The man went home and she twice declined medical help. She also had been drinking. •A Milton-Freewater woman at 11:24 a.m. reported the theft of several items from her yard on the 200 block of Northeast 11th Avenue. •An Echo resident at 2:42 p.m. reported her nephew tried to steal her air conditioner, generator and a pump from her residence on Leezer Avenue, Echo. She said the nephew was not expecting her to show up. Law enforcement was not DEOHWR¿QGWKHKRXVH •A Boardman woman at about 4:45 p.m. arrived at Good Shepherd Medical Center, Hermiston, and claimed her ex-husband assaulted her. •A Heppner resident at 5:24 p.m. reported he keeps receiving calls from someone claiming to be with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and asking about his business. •A Weston resident at 5:47 p.m. reported he let a guy he does not know borrow his 1995 GMC Sierra pickup, and the guy has not returned it. •A caller at 6:10 p.m. reported a man pointed a handgun at him while on Highway 730 near the intersection with Highway 395, Umatilla. The caller said the suspect was white, approximately 40-50, wore a hat and had a beard. A female was with the man, who followed the caller into Hermiston, blocked him in at the First Community Credit Union and made verbal threats to him before leaving south on Highway 395. •A boy at 9:11 p.m. in Irrigon called 9-1-1 because his brother was trying to break his skateboard. The mother then called and said she took care of the situation at the city’s skate park and did not need law enforcement. SATURDAY •Customers at about 1:20 a.m. at Bucknum’s Tavern, 152 N. Main St., Heppner, found their tires slashed. •An Athena resident on East Jefferson Street at 1:41 a.m. reported her husband went outside and saw a “bunch of their property gathered together as if someone was attempting to steal it.” •A woman at 10:26 a.m. told Pendleton police a man claiming to be her friend’s boyfriend knocked on her door at Shadeview Mobile Home Park, 1437 S.W. 37th St., Pendleton, and made her uncomfortable. •A parent at 12:18 p.m. reported his two young girls went RQDVFKRRO¿HOGWULSWRWKH3HQGOHWRQ)DPLO\$TXDWLF&HQWHU 1901 N.W. Carden Ave., and returned with swimsuits that were not theirs. 7KH0RUURZ&RXQW\6KHULII¶V2I¿FHDWSPUHFHLYHG a report of a neglected horse at Eastregaard Road and Wilson Lane, Boardman. The case is under investigation. •Two children at 3:28 p.m. played on the roof of a house on Northwest Water Street, Heppner, which prompted a caller to tell law enforcement because that seemed like a dangerous activity. •A caller at 7:46 p.m. told Umatilla police her friend assaulted her. •Juveniles at about 10 p.m. in Pendleton threw a couch down the stairs between Southwest Isaac and Hailey avenues, blocking the entire stairway. SUNDAY •A city of Umatilla resident at 1:02 a.m. reported at least SHRSOH¿JKWLQJEHKLQGKHUKRXVH •A Hermiston caller at 12:09 p.m. reported seeing a neighbor on the 2100 block of North First Street neglecting dogs on hot cement. One dog collapsed, the caller said, and the neighbor made accusations against her when she tried to help. •And a caller at 8:05 p.m. in Milton-Freewater reported a male on a bike nearly dragged a dog on a leash. She said she tried to speak to the male, who “was verbally abusive to her and said he did not care about the animal.” •A man at 11:56 p.m. reported his ex-wife may have stolen his 2004 white Ford F250 pickup from Con Agra Lamb Weston Inc. 78153 Westland Road, Hermiston. ARRESTS, CITATIONS Friday •Oregon State Police arrested Stefano M. Mironov, 25, RI$WKHQDIRUGULYLQJXQGHUWKHLQÀXHQFHRILQWR[LFDQWVDQG reckless driving. •Pendleton police at about 11:30 p.m. responded to Roy Raley Park, 1001 S.W. Court Ave., to deal with several people and arrested two: Jordan R. Baker, 21, of 1335 S.W. Second St., No. 18, Pendleton, for resisting arrest, interfering with police and second-degree trespass: and Shayrena Lenora Johnson, 20, of 70808 S. Market Road, Pendleton, IRUDVVDXOWLQJDSXEOLFVDIHW\RI¿FHUVHFRQGGHJUHHWUHVSDVV interfering with police, obstructing justice and second-degree mischief. •Umatilla Tribal Police Department arrested Rechelle Sue Wilson, 22, of Pendleton, for theft and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Saturday •Milton-Freewater police arrested Owen Buel McLaughlin, 56, of 95 N.E. 11th Ave., Milton-Freewater, on two counts of harassment, two counts of fourth-degree assault and one count of second-degree disorderly conduct, all misdemeanors. •Umatilla Tribal Police Department arrested Carrissa Anne Close, 23, of Pendleton, for domestic violence assault. Adell lived her life helping others. She espe- cially enjoyed working with the kids at Headstart, reading with the SMART program, and helping with the “angels” class at the United Methodist Church. She was very active in her church while she was able. Adell was preceded in death by her husband Willie, sister Irene, brother Lew, and grandson Kurtis Nash. She is survived by her sister Bev from Yakima, Wash.; her children Bill and his wife Ann of Hood River, Ore., Jay and his wife Mary Beth of Medford, N.J., Maydell and her husband Gary Nash of Pendleton, and Doreen and her husband Gary Cannon of Portland, Ore.; grandchildren Cody, Nick and Rachel Nash, Sarah and Cliff Robinson, Eric and April Parker, and Christopher Parker; great-grandchildren Taelor, Ashlyn, Meisha, Sydney, Riley Hannah, Savannah, and Lucas; step- grandchildren Nate, Nolan, Trevor, Katy; and numerous other family. AWARDS EOU presents student awards LA GRANDE — From musicians to mathematicians, educators to economists, artists to athletes, Eastern Oregon University presented a total of 39 awards to undergraduate and graduate students at its annual awards assembly June 12. Three Hermiston students earned academic awards during the assembly. Mary Hawman was recognized for her excel- lence in business administration and accounting. Anthony Eisenbarth received recognition for his work in economics.
