Umatilla-Morrow County Farm Bureau
awards scholarships to seven grads
PENDLETON — The Umatilla-Morrow County Farm
Bureau recently awarded scholarships totaling $2,750 to
seven 2015 high school graduates.
Terrel Platt of Pilot Rock (Pendleton High School)
was awarded a $1,000 scholarship. The son of Steve and
Melinda Platt, Terrel will attend
Colorado State University, majoring
in animal science and agribusiness.
A $500 scholarship was
awarded to Makenzi Hughes of
Heppner High School. Makenzi is
the daughter of Kevin and Angie
Hughes of Heppner. She plans to
study agriculture education at Blue
Mountain Community College.
Five local graduates earned $250
Platt
scholarships:
Macy Gibbs of Heppner,
daughter of Jay and Susan Gibbs, will attend Oregon State
University to study agriculture business. Briana Wolfe,
Hermiston, plans to attend OSU and major in biohealth
sciences. She is the daughter of Bradley Wolfe and
Robbie Edison of Hermiston.
Elizabeth McCarty, daughter of Dan and Brandy
McCarty of Echo, will study nursing at Eastern Oregon
University.
