The driver also received a ride to a hotel. •A Umatilla resident at 8:28 a.m. reported someone broke into her trailer at Sand Station Recreation Area on Highway 730 and stole restraining order paperwork she needed to serve on KHUH[ER\IULHQG6KHLGHQWL¿HGDSRVVLEOHVXVSHFWDQGDOVRVDLG cigarettes and police paperwork also were gone. •A caller at 8:23 a.m. reported a tool shed belonging to Horizon Project, Inc., was the target of burglary on the 600 block of North Russell Street, Milton-Freewater. •A Hermiston-area resident at 9:12 a.m. reported the theft of several tires and an arc welder from East Loop Road. •A staff member of Ferndale Elementary School, Milton- Freewater, asked to talk to a Umatilla County sheriff’s deputy after a parent was abusive to a teacher. $6WDQ¿HOGDUHDZRPDQDVNHGWRVSHDNWRODZHQIRUFHPHQW about a man who keeps creeping onto her property and also watches her house on South Ash Road. •A caller at 2:44 p.m. at the Morrow County OHV Park on Forest Service Road 21, Heppner, reported the theft of a police radio and emergency light control box. •Law enforcement at about 3:30 p.m. responded to Mount Hood Avenue, Boardman, on a report of residents arguing loudly. Police WROGDPDQDQGZRPDQWR¿QGDEHWWHUZDQWWRZRUNWKLQJVRXWWKDQ yelling at each other in front of their children. •The owner of a cabin on Government Mountain and Saddle Mountain roads, Milton-Freewater, told law enforcement at 4 p.m. someone broke in and stole numerous items, including household goods, lanterns and ammunition. •Pendleton police at 4:38 p.m. received a report that a male and female locked themselves in the female restroom at Trailhead Park on Westgate Place. •An employee of Travelers Inn, Pendleton, told police at 5:17 p.m. guests in one room were yelling and screaming at each other, may have slammed each other around and may also be intoxicated. •Residents at about 6:20 p.m. on East Punkin Center Road, Hermiston, told a neighbor they have video of people stealing some metal from the property. The man reported the incident to law enforcement. •A Heppner man at 7:55 p.m. reported a man was trying to break into his residence at Mountain Glen Apartments, 200 Pioneer Drive, due to a matter of money. A second report from the apartment complex at 10:27 p.m. reported the theft of medication. ARRESTS, CITATIONS •Pendleton police arrested Lonnie Lynn Abbott, 40, and Cassie Ann Abbott, 36, both of Pendleton, for second-degree trespassing and possession of methamphetamine. •Oregon State Police arrested Mark David Borghese, 49, of Arlington, for possession of methamphetamine and on a Wasco County warrant. UPCOMING SERVICES MEETINGS WEDNESDAY, MAY 13 Burton H. “Burt” Paine of Hermiston, Oregon, was born on January 26, 1926, in St. Louis, Missouri, to parents Benjamin Burton and Minnie Jewell Harris Paine. He died on May 11, 2015, in Hermiston, Oregon, at the age of 89 years. Burt was raised in Eagle, Idaho. He graduated from Boise High School in the class of 1944. Burt then joined the United States Army in 1945 and served during WWII and later the Korean &RQÀLFW EHIRUH KLV Paine honorable discharge in 1955. Burt was united in marriage to Mescal Payne on June 2, 1952, in Daily City, California. They moved to Hermiston, Oregon, and Burt worked for PGG and then owned and operated Burt’s Texaco and later for the city of Hermiston in the street department from 1978 until retiring in 1988. Burt was a member of the Hermiston Christian Center, Hermiston, Oregon, and the Happy Ramblers Travel Club. He and Mescal spent winters snow-birding from 1988 until 2005.
