She asked for police to contact her DWKHUUHVLGHQFHZLWKLQWRPLQXWHV$QRI¿FHUWDJJHGWKH semi. •Pendleton police at 9:29 a.m. received a call from a nurse who said two pit bull dogs attacked a woman on Southwest 19th Street and killed a kitten. The woman ended up in a hospital for a couple of days, the caller said. •A Pendleton woman at 10:07 a.m. reported someone parked behind her vehicle on Northwest Bailey Avenue and he cannot leave. She said she repeatedly left notes on cars about parking issues and nothing changes. $3HQGOHWRQUHVLGHQWDWDPUHSRUWHGDVFDP6KH said she received a call from a female at 208-801-0782 who said the government would give her $1,000, but she will have to call and enter a secret code. She asked for police to respond. PENDLETON — Nearly 40 teams are expected to compete in this weekend’s Hearts in Motion dance competition. Pendleton High School’s Rhythmic Mode dance team hosts the event, which also serves as a fundraiser for the team. The doors open Saturday at noon and the grand march starts at 12:45 p.m. at the school’s Warberg Court, 1800 N.W. Carden Ave., Pendleton. Tickets are $8 for adults and students. The event includes approximately 350 dancers that range from kindergarten to high school seniors. In addition, there are two exhibition groups, including pre-school dancers. A concession booth will be available for food and beverage purchases. Venita was born June 12, 1927, in Union, Oregon, to Lewis and Florence (Harri- son) Cross. In 1945 she graduated from Union High School. After graduation she became a tele- phone operator in La Grande, Oregon. On September 25, 1951, she mar- ried Donald DePue in La Grande, Or- egon. They lived in La Grande until DePue 1959 when they moved to Hermis- ton. She was a homemaker. For many years she worked as a Democratic election su- pervisor and was active in Camp Fire Girls. Community theater announces auditions PENDLETON — College Community Theatre will conduct auditions for its spring production of “The Orphans.” The heartfelt comedy written by James Prideaux centers around two wealthy and eccentric sisters who have lived nearly in exclusion in their hotel room since their parents died 25 years earlier. Auditions are Tuesday and Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Bob Clapp Theatre in Pioneer Hall at Blue Mountain Community College, 2411 N.W. Carden Ave., Pendleton. The cast calls for three adult women (two major roles and one minor) and three adult men (one major role and two minor). He died on February 11, 2015, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, at the age of 49 years. Kevin was raised and attended schools in Umatilla, Oregon. He gradu- ated from Spartan School of Aeronau- tics in 1988. Kevin was unit- ed in marriage to Janet C. Campbell on October 2, 1993, in Tulsa, Oklaho- ma. They moved to Hermiston, Oregon, in 1994 where they have lived since. Morgan Kevin graduated from BMCC in 2007 with a degree as a reg- istered nurse. He was a mem- ber of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Kevin was active volunteer with the Boy Scouts and had served as a hospice volun- teered. He enjoyed camping, movies, was an excellent cook, and an advocate for ed- ucation. He is survived by his wife, Janet Morgan, Hermiston, Ore.; children Christian Mor- gan, Utah, and Zachary Mor- gan, Lanae Washburn and Molly Morgan, all of Herm- iston, Ore.; sisters Mary Kay Morgan Bork, Pendleton, Ore., Linda Morgan Self, Tri Cities, Wash., Tami Raf- ferty, Prosser, Wash., and Cyndi Prewitt, Hermiston, Ore.; brother Bobby Challis, Hermiston, Ore.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
