Cheri Kendrick , BMCC Communications Instructor & Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Advisor. Cheri Kendrick has been teaching communication classes at BMCC for 13 years. She earned degrees in communication from Oregon State University and a law degree from Willamette University. Prior to teaching at BMCC, she practiced law for several years in the Willamette Valley. With her legal background, she has added assignments to classes that immerse students in legal settings, such as small claims court. Cheri enjoys travelling with her family and meeting people from different parts of the country and the world. Matt Liscom , BMCC Agriculture Science Instructor. Matt Liscom graduated from Oregon State University with a BS degree in Animal Science. He worked at Hill Meat Co. for five years before starting into education. Twelve years later after a brief break from the classroom he worked as a Livestock and Shooting Sports Extension Agent for OSU. He then was back to teaching. Most of Matt’s free time is spent working on his place and hauling his boys to their activities which include rodeo, football, basketball and baseball. With any time that’s left, Matt enjoys hunting and fishing together with his sons. “Teaching agriculture combines the best of both worlds for me. I feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to work with students every day and get to share my passion for livestock and agriculture with them. I truly believe that learning is a lifelong activity and there’s no reason it shouldn’t be fun and enjoyable for everyone involved.” Jeremy Pike , BMCC Diesel Technologies Instructor. Jeremy Pike, a McLoughlin Union High School alumni, graduated from Walla Walla Community College with a degree in Ag Diesel Equipment Mechanics in 1999. From there Jeremy worked for local diesel shops including Blue Mountain Helicopter, Wentland Diesel and the Ford Dealerships in Walla Walla and Pendleton in positions that included maintenance and diagnostics. He spent the 8 years prior to beginning at BMCC at Cummin’s Northwest in Pendleton where he worked as a Cummin’s Certified Master Technician. Jeremy began with BMCC this recent fall term and has been an invaluable component to the program since. He loves working on motors and teaching has come very naturally to him. Jeremy and his wife Meghan have two children, Laney and Ryder. He loves to spend time with his family at the cabin, fish with his son and hunt. He and his father are avid Harley Motorcycle collectors. Their family has 1936, 1931 and a 1935 Harley Motorcycles they plan to display in the BMCC Car Show this spring.
