RECORDS Friday, January 16, 2015 East Oregonian PUBLIC SAFETY LOG OBITUARIES DEATH NOTICES WEDNESDAY Edgar Thomas Simpson William Leroy Alameda •A caller at 8:09 a.m. reported a break-in at Lindell’s Auto and Truck Parts, 411 Highway 11, Pendleton; thieves stole a drawer full of change. •A Pendleton resident at 10:08 a.m. reported her landlord has been keeping her rent money and now there is a past due balance of $1,800. •A crash at about 10:40 a.m. blocked one lane of Highway 204 for about an hour an a half. A 68-year-old man from Pasco was eastbound on the route near milepost 15 when he lost control on a curve due to ice on the road. His gray 2004 Nissan eastbound lane. Oregon State Police reported he suffered minor injuries but did not require medical treatment. •A supervisor with the U.S. Forest Service at 11:19 a.m. re- ported a break-in at an employee’s residence in Pendleton and the theft of a government iPhone 5. He said a signal for a time showed the phone was south of Boardman. •Pendleton police at 12:14 p.m. received a call that an 18-year-old inmate of Homestead Youth & Family Services, 816 S.E. 15th St., assaulted a juvenile. •A caller at 1:18 p.m. at Riverview Mobile Home Park, 1370 E. Highway 730, Irrigon, reported someone put animal feces on her car door and windshield. •A Pendleton resident at 2:34 p.m. asked police to check on a suspicious person who was in a neighbor’s yard on Northwest Johns Avenue, “looking through people’s things and yelling.” •An older Milton-Freewater man suffered shoulder and chest pain after he crashed his vehicle into another car at about 3:30 p.m. in Milton-Freewater. Oregon State Police reported an 18-year-old driver from Walla Walla was northbound on Highway 11 in a Hyundai Elantra and entered the special lane to turn left onto Appleton Road. That was when the 80-year-old driver in a Buick Lucerne pulled out of a nearby business parking lot and crossed both northbound lanes to head south, but the Buick turned in front of the Hyundai in the turn lane. The teen hit her brakes, but the car slammed into the front side door of the Buick. An ambulance took the older driver to a nearby hospital. •A female in a white Mercedes a few minutes before 3:40 Highway 207, Hermiston, and almost hit an attendant. •An older white man wearing an orange vest caused a dis- turbance around 4 p.m. at the Pendleton Public Library. A caller told police the man yelled at people and stated he had mental problems. •A caller at 5:20 p.m. told Milton-Freewater police someone the 100 block of Walnut Street. •Hot noodles scalded a 6-year-old girl at about 5:30 p.m. in Irrigon. The girl dropped the hot meal on her leg and when she yanked down her pants she pulled off skin. A caller reported the incident, but an ambulance was refused. Cherokee with Oregon plates was “cruising around” Netherda Road. He said the occupants could be out to steal scrap metal. •An inmate at Homestead Youth & Family Services, Pend- leton, ran away from the detention facility at about 8:15 p.m. An employee told police the runaway was American Indian, wore gray shorts and a white shirt, was 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighed 150 pounds and had brown hair and eyes.
