Gloria Ann Mullay Mervin Willis Swearingen Hermiston December 6, 1929-January 8, 2015 Pendleton June 13, 1935-January 10, 2015 Gloria Ann Mullay, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2015, in Hermiston. She was born on December 6, 1929, in Lew- istown, Montana, to George and Ann Grieser Sobotta. She graduated from Lapwai (Idaho) High School in 1947 and received her higher education from Lewis-Clark Normal and Eastern Washington Uni- versity. On August 19, 1950, she married Patrick E. Mullay in Lewiston, Ida- ho. They came to Hermiston in 1959, where she taught Mullay fourth grade at West Park Elemen- tary School until her retire- ment. She loved to travel and attended many reading con- ferences worldwide. She was able to visit such places as Australia, China, Russia, Switzerland, Turkey and the Ukraine. She continued her travels after retirement whenever possible. Survivors include sons Kevin of Portland, Ore., Bob (Lois) of Hermiston and Mick of Kiev, Ukraine; grandchildren Daniel Mullay of Hermiston, Kayla Mullay and theft by receiving. •Milton-Freewater police arrested Dennis Ray Luke, 50, of intoxicants and misdemeanor driving while suspended.
