WESTON, Nv. l. Mrs. Charles M. Price entertained members of the Women's Missionary Society of M. B. Church at her country home last Thursday. The spacious rooms of the residence were artistically decorated with calen dulas and chrysanthemums. A cheer ful firetuion the hearth blazed . a friendly welcome to each visitor and offered a delightful setting for the exchange of reminiscences and mem ories of the happw events of the past. A business session was followed by an Interesting program prepared by Mrs. E. M. Smith. Articles covering work of the church of Birmington, Alabama were read 'by Mesdames Smith, C'oan, Ooodwin and Howard. Mrs. Anna Compton Winn contributed a group of songs which were enthusiastically re ceived. During the social hour a dainty repast was served by Mrs. George W. Winn and the hostess. Mrs. W. S. Howard of Milton was an out of town guest tn attendanpe Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Wilsey return ed this week to their home near Wes ton after an absence of about two months. They visited Mr. Wilsey.' relatives nt Rutledge and Mrs. Wilsey also spent some time with relatives at Fort Wayne, Indiana. On her wav home she stopped to visit friends in I Reed and Hawley mountain which is getting a new road, Is becoming jmouen wnh the spirit of progress and has come to bat with the only radio set in the entire Weston country. Its a good outfit, able to take broad casted music and riV'S.sages from points as far away as Denver and San Fran cisco. The set is the property of Frederick Heath and will be installed in his farm residence near the White Fir school house. A number of-friends and relatives met at the hunpitalilo Wilsey home and enjoyed a delicious dinner of fried chicken and other delicacies of the season. Those present were D. I. Wilsey, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Greer and son Myron,' Mr. and Mrs. Jay Smith, and Alto and Norman Smith, Mrs. Harold Doak and daughter of College riace and Mr. and Mrs. Willis Nel son and son Robert of Walla Walla. Mr, and Mrs. Geo. W. Winn motored to Helix Saturday evening to attend a Sunday school rally solo numbers contributed by Mrs. Winn were an en joyable feature of the program pre sented. Because of the extreme car shortng? grain and potatoes are being shipped out of Weston in open coal cars. Last week five of these "gondolas" were loaded with grain, - Three Weston boys Elmer Nolte, Victor Thoney and James Lutes who went south nrde all employed in a San Jose, California packing house at good wages. -Mrs. E. S. Harris accompanied by her sister went to Freewater Thurs day after apples. Billy, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Run sey York had the misfortune to mash his fingers quite badly while playing around a caterpillar.
