William Proctor Remington has been
elected missionary bishop for East
ern Oregon diocese for the Protestant
Episcopal church. He was formerly
Suffragan Bishop of South Dakota,
ftemington is a famous athlete and
was' ordained a priest in 1906. He
held posts in Philadelphia and Min
neapolis, Minnesota. He was conse
crated bishop of South Dakota Jan
uary 10;. 1918 and was chaplain of
a base hospital twenty six. He is a
member of the board of missions of
the. Protestant Episcopal church.
Remington was born in Philadelphia.
Pennsylvania, March 13, 1879 and
was married to Florence Lyman Al
len at Burlington-, Vermont, Septem
ber 9, 1905. Ho is regarded as one
of the most brilliant of the younger
Episcopal bishops

sometimes insist on standing in street cars, when
seats are available. Every one standing helps
to block the aisle and makes passage through '
the car more difficult for others. If there is a
seat anywhere in the car, it should be sought out
