Warner Helps Take Meet. laurence K. Warner, formerly an athlete of the Pendleton hijrh school, was one of the high point men tn the first intramural swimming meet held in the new large tank at O. A. C. Warner took first place in back strike, third place in breast strike, third place in long distance plunge, and was on the r,Hay team which took second place. The seven points made by Warner helped the Delta Kappa fraternity, of which he is a member, to take .first place in the meet. ' . -. Wallowa Without Ajscnt. Srigi-ist Dies , Mrs. Ada Seigrist, of La Grande, who is known to Pendletoh people, died this morning at Hot Lake after a short illness, according to word re ceived here today. A patch of ice on the sidewalk on Jackson street aused her to lose her footing. One of the bones in the forearm was broken and the other one was cracked. The fracture was reduced, and she was able to be out of doors today. - Express Company Builds. , The American Express Co. will soon have thecapncity of its office building on the O.-W. It. fr N. en larged, according to a permit which has been' granted it at the office of the city recorder. The present build ing will be extended west a distance of SO feet, according to the permit, and tlit- old part of the building will be re-arranged. The office wiil be plastered , and the rest of the room will be altered. The estimated cost of the work is $4,000. ' Wyrlck Team Wjis. ' V Guy Wyrick's team won the hon- ors In yesterday's rabbit shoot, his team of 19 members killing 1907 of the long-eared pests at Harris Gulch, and besting the record of Dr. H. M. Hanavan's team which killed 1870 a I the Stanfield ranch in Thornhollow. Jumps King, a member of Captain Wyrick's team, killed 203 rabbits, whining the high score trophy offered by Sol Kiuim, while Gus Petet, a member of th Hanavan team, won a similar trophy by killing 191 rabbits. The women have outlined as their projects dressmaking, millinery and dressform making.
