Address 777 Thompson St., Pendleton, Oregon. BY EARLE C. REEVES, (International News .Service Staff Correspondent.) LONDON, Xov. 30. A strike by di vorce judges, until the ludicrous and complicated divorco laws of England ore corrected. Is advocated by James Dodd, an eminent jurist, in u puper read before the Law Society. "If oiilv the divorco Judges would go on strike they might get something! done toward clearing away the my pocrisy and perjury that has made the divorce court an abomination," Dodd declared. , Before a divorce may be petitioned for In England there must be a peti tion for restitution of conjugal rights. It must be shown that the party bring ing the ;suit has proposed to the other party ill! the case a return to the rela tions of marriage, that the" second party has. refused and that there has been desertion for two years. Then suit may be brought on grounds of In fidelity and cruelty. I "It often takes two years to get this preliminary petition; to a hearing," says Dodd, "and all that then happens Is the reading of an obviously hypo critical letter from the wife and un obvious reply from the husband, and then it Is all over in five minutes, at a cost of $250 to $500. "Then comes the petition for di vorce, with another long delay. The cost Is appulllng, and no good purpose Is served by it. The petition for restitution could be taken In chambers within a week after service, and as to the lctter writlng nonsense and the lying affida vits about no collusion, the sooner these are abandoned the better, be-' cause nobody Is deceived by them." YES, perfect plumb ing's our hobby, all right. It's our life work and we've made good at it. If you don't ask us to do your plumb ing we both lose. Per haps we've done some work for some one you know. That gives you a chance to investigate us. JONES -KAY PLUMBING CO. Plumbing, Heating and Sheet J SIctal Work. Phone 413 513 E.
