Cortelyou, recently an nounced a new code of rules to gov ern boxing bouts in I hat city which It is believed will benefit tho ring sport' there. Under the old rules, which had been In vogue for about nine years, all laouts were limited to six rounds but Director Cortelyou, has decided to allow bouts of eight rounds duration. Ho claims that by length ening tho number of rounds, boaters will be loss apt to "stall" and every fighter who signs up for a match will have to "weigh in'' at. or under, the stpulutcd weight called for in his con trtsct. Tho director also has asserted that the new code will be enforced to the teller olid has warned all promo ters, managers and boxers to that ef fect.
