THE STORY OF THE C0LVII1E VALLEY The Colville Valley in located about two hours' ride by automobile north of the city of Spokane, in Stevens Connty, Vanh. The valley is from two t to four miles in width and is practically level. The soil In the bottoms Jh a black silt loam and on the higher lands a clayey loam. The rainfall Is about 20 Inches and comes at very opportune times during the eummer as wetl as at other seasons. ,, Wheat, oats, rye, barley, corn, alfalfa, timothy, clover alaike and all root crops are grown in the valley, as well as different varieties of vegetables and fruit.
