Joel Vigus, formerly of Tacoma, will inherit the estate of her sweetheart. Private Grover T. Porter of San Qiego, Cal., who was killed in France. It has been found that th laws of France and California hold that a helographic will, one written in his own handwriting and signed by the testator without witnesses, is legal. It was such a will that Porter exe cuted in France. Soon after his arri val there, the soldier borrowed a fountain pen from his "buddy," and, obtaining a form of will, wrote it him self, naming his fiancee as his heir. One of the clauses stated. "This be quest is made with full knowledge that I am leaving none of my estate to my own relations of the blood." Porter mailed the will to Miss Vigus. Two weeks after she received the doc ument, came the message saying ner lover had given his life for his coun try. Besides naming Miss Vigus as the sole beneficiary of his estate. Porter also named her executrix and benefic iary of his war risk insurance of 10, 009. Porter was stationed at Camp Lewis while the Vigus family lived at Taco ma, and as a strange soldier was In vited to the Vigtis home for Sunday dinner. In that way he met the pretty daughter of the clergyman, ana tne acquaintance ripened into love, m fr.ro lexA-iiur CaniD Lewis for France, Porter asked Miss Ruth to become his Wlfe if he returned and was accepted.
