Why the Sixteen -Year Old Economy Facts of the Franklin Mean More Today Throughout the country, industries and individuals are "speeding up". The nation is on an efficiency basis, and both the individual and the motor car must either conform, or fall out of the picture. 'Anti-Idling" laws apply to motor cars as well as to men. . These are days when the car that can't earn its keep faces the possibility of being put under lock and key. , None of. us can be wasters and neither can our cars. - ' r . ,-. The Franklin i Car meets this condition with flat, statements of just ' what it will do and just what it will cost to do it. . ... - - . ..; It offers you the satisfying service only a fine car can give; the ut most in riding-comfort, ease and safety of handling; freedom from com plication and consequent repair-annoyance, plus the economical cost of upkeep arising from its steady delivery of 20 miles to the gallon of gasoline instead of 10 10,000 miles to the set of tires instead of 5,000 Economy such as this is rare enough in the fine car field to be worth your immediate investigation especially under present conditions. Only In Norway were there Indica tions that the situation might prove serious. A general strike was called. The strike Saturday forced Christian- la to do without light, water, tram cars and newspapers. The govern ment Issued an order closing restau rants and ordering a three day pro hibition of alcohol sales. Public OittUou Turns. In Prance the strike was officially called. Telegrams from Italy, Aus tria, Germany and Great Britain In dicated the movement was abandonee' cither wholly or partially on account of the pressure of public opinion. Compar ing senators opposing the league of nations to -'hell hounds and snakes," Senator Harrison of Mississlpl, de livered a fiery attack on them in a senate speech today. He predicted, "If you do you will hear the voice of the people and Re publican hopes will be forever Bhat tored and yoor party Ignominously defeated." He declared oposltlon to the league was based first on jeal ousy of tho great prestige obtained by the president, and next on the fear vt munliion makers that disarmament under the league will cut off their profits. "Nothing has been left undone by you (addressing tho league's foes per. sonally) to have! 'failure' written over the Versailles conference door, your conduct is onlv - computable to the conduct of the never ceuslng hell hounds which Milton stationed at the Infernal gates; .
