went an operation at Moscow. Idaho,
last week is improving nicely. She
is now under the care of Dr. J. L.
Gilleland at Pullman, Wn.
Vivian Gibb3 will leave this week
for Tortland and will enter training at
a hospital there.

PILOT RUCK. Aug. 13. A letter
was received this week by Mr. and
Mrs. Georice SchU-gel from their son
Harry who is in France. He seems to
like his work and says he is driving a
new Dodse car for one of the offi
cers in his company.
Mr. and Mrs E. R. Rankin are
spending the vacation in Medford.
Oregon, where Mr. Rankin's parents
reside. They made the trip by auto
mobile and expect to be gone two
weeks.

pose of the war department to keep
at least l.OOU.UOO men training in
camps in the United States so long as
the war shall lust.

tions for extension of the draft age,
Secretary Baker suid it was not the
intention of the War Department to
invade the deferred classifications.
Discussing the battle In the Aisne
