There was a shipment of four teen hundred pounds of dressed tur key went out of this city with Mr iCopplnger's, which weighed about six hundred pounds. At the regular election of officers of Umatilla Lodge No. 40. A. F. & A. m., of Echo, held last Saturday, the following members were chosen for officers for the coming year: Wor shipful master, Jacob Trott; senior Warden, J. Frank Spinning; Junior Warden, Jesse S. Arnold; secretary, Allen Thomson; treasurer, R. B. S'anfleld; tyler, R. R. Lewis L. T. Fuglt, local telegraph opera tor, arrived home yesterday from Pendleton with his bride, formerly I Miss Blanche Belfleld of North Pow i der. The happy couple will make their home here. Bronaon shipped out about 4000 pounds of turkeys to day. Most of them birds went to Portland to help supply the holidav market. A few, however, of Mr. Pearson's turkeys were shipped to Tacoma, having been contracted for by private parties. Testifying to the extra quality of the Hermlston tur keys, Mr. Pearson had an Inquiry a few days ago from a Tacoma party In which he stated that he had had the good fortune to get hold of one of the Hermixton turkeys a couple of years ago, and inquired if it would be pos sible to get them direct this year. The shipment made today brought the top price In the Portland market. Sam Rodgers, the shoe repair man, has had installed in his shop recently one of the most thoroughly up-to-date and modern shoe repairing machines on the market. It Is nine machine in one. and is run by an electric mo tor. Every operation known to the shoe repairer man can eg done by thl machine in less time than it takes to say it. Mr. Rodgers will make a specialty of the mall order business. Peyton T. Boone left Thursday night for Havre, Mont., where he will assist in the drug store of his brother until fall, at which time he will take up the study of medicine at John Hopkins University. Mr. Boone Is pioneer settler of the project, having come here ten years ago from Havre, Mont. He has one of the best equip ped ranched in the country, and hat just competed the erection of a mod ern dairy barn at a cost of 150.
