German agents offered President O'Connor of the Longshoremen's national organi zation one million and thirty fh" thousand dollars if he would cause a month's general strike of the Long shoremen on Pacific and Atlantic docks, O'Connor declared today. A Boston man, he said, offered a big bribe for a strike at Atlantic ports. Such a strike was intended to hamper shipments of munitions to the allies and give the Austro-German agents an opportunity to blow up the vessels. CHRISTIANXA, Sept. 15. The lum ber schooner Randula, bound from Arendal, Norway, to England, has been seized by a German submarine and taken to Heligoland as a prize. The schooner Wansbeck was set afire by the same submarine. The crew was saved. and is also cheaper in the respect that it will last much longer. It gives the same protection to the timepiece. Mohr, of Baltimore, son the slain Dr. C. Franklin Mohr of this city, has so far been unable to locate the will of his father, who Is reported, to have left an estate of about half a million dollars. Mr. Mohr states that his father's- second wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Tiffany Mohr. ac cused of conspiring with three ne groes now held in Jail to murder her husband, has promised him his share in his father's estate. Constable John Plgg of Mt. Vernon, 111., is full of righteous indignation. When he scanned the public prints recently he saw Enrich Braatz of St. Louis, heralded as the world's cham pion pancake eater, all because Braatz had eaten 65 pancakes to prove that his wife was a good cook and that in digestion did not lurk In her victuals. Pigg seized his trusty pen and sent the following screed to the editor: "I can beet that all holler if I have beer to drink with it. 1 am consta ble, city park, here, and every body knows the Pigg family are heavy eaters If we can drink a bottle of beer for every 10 pancakes. WOODLAND, Wash., Sept 15. Dobert Simpson, owner of a 110,000 ranch on the edge of town, was killed in a runaway four miles northeast ot the city. He died a few minutes after he was found, lying by a rock crush er, by neighbors. Ilobers entered the home of P. W. Troutdale today and obtained $35 In cash and silverware.
