opening. Later there waa a further
advance on the scarcity of first hand
Manitoba offers, strength in apot
here, and forecasts of light Russian
shipment th'a week. The continued
favorable weather In Argentine
checked the advance.

While there was quite a liberal run
of swine reported in the local yards
over nlsht, the mutton was generally
considered strong and sales were
made of several lota during the morn
ing at 18 the extreme price reached
for one load yesterday.
Generally speaking, ther? wos a
further improvement in the hog trade
at points east of the Rockies for the
day. At Chicago the market was up
a nickel, with tops at 8.05.

boards of agriculture. It was West
Virginia's first appearance at the Innd
show. Canada was also represented
by elaborate displays mado by the
dominion government, the provinci
al government of Hrltlsh Columbia
and Alberta and the Chamber of
Commerce of Edmonton. Mechanical
models of Irrigation systems and rail
way engineering feats In the Uockles
were the features of Canada's exhib
it. The west was represented by the
Great Northern railway with tho lar
