That south ern Oregon has been the field of op erations for a clever gang of horse thieves is indicated by the testimony of Lester Hkkson. aged 17 years, ar rested at DorrW. Cal. His evidence Implicates W. Z. Mynatt, Uoy Myatt and Charles A. Woden, of the Rogue river valley. Hickson has lived in Medford several years, and has been arrested previously on the same charge. Deputy Sheriff Hughes, of Siskiyou county, estimates that 60 Parcel Post, special delivery and registered stamps have been abolish ed and the little red and green stick ers such as everyone uses to send let ters and post cards are good for ev erything that Uncle Sam can give In the line of postal service, according to an .order from Postmaster General Burleson, which took effect Monday. To simplify the postal service and make It easier for everyone to tran sact business with the postoffice de partment. Is the reason given for es tablishing a one-stamp system. An ordinary postage stamp can now be used for special delivery, registered mall or parcel post and the parcel post stamps, so long as they last are good on letters or other mall matter. For six months the federal govern ment has been trying out the parcel post and figuring up the sale of the specially made stamps to determine whether the institution is a success or not. So well has the parcel post Justified the action of the department that the stamps, by which the am ount of receipts w-ere checked, were eliminated. With the Idea of doing away wtlh the confusing number of tamps came that of cutting out all the other varieties and letting the simple postage stamp bear the entire burden. 1 I S V. , 4 f Beautiful Women.
