Twelve hundred of the furry pests were killed last Sunday. Miss Esther Scholl has accepted the position as assistant at the Echo postofflce. E. Helrne of Sunnysldt, Wn., who owns a section of wheat land two miles northeast of Echo is here look ing after his Interests. Mrs. James McLauchlin of Duncan returned to her home this morning after a two days' visit with her son James McLaughlin Jr., who is In the employ of the O.-W. R. & x. Co. at thto place. Mr. and Mrs. George Stuart entertained Friday evening at their home, the Ukiah Ho tel. , They were assisted by Mr. and Mrs. Loyad Stuart and Miss Etta Hlnes. A short musical program was rendered by Miss Alma Gyphart, Bert Maclaughlln, Claud Sturdivant, and Eber Mossie, after which dancing was enjoyed until midnight. Dainty re freshments were served.
