Some of the other clubs are going to experience some difficulty in cutting down to that amount. This to bring the aggregate salaries down to the $1200 mark, but the dope is pret tv thin to be swallowed without a grimmace. A Walla Walla paper gives the Buckarooes credit for pilfering more bags than the Bears and assigns as the reason the alleged fact that the latter play the hit and rua game. It ij to laugh. The Stan- fleld-Hermlston ball game Sunday was called off in the fifth inning on ac count of a storm. The score was 2 to 1 in favor of Hermiston. The game was a comedy of errors. William H. Skinner has left for Cal gary, Canada, to dispose of some land and will return in about a week. John W. Messner, of the Western Land and Irrigation company arrived in Hermiston Saturday and' spent Sun day looking over the project of the company. He is greatly pleased with the work that has been accomplished by Dr. Stapish and also with the Im provements on the project. Letters have been received from Frank B. Roscoe, formerly of Her miston. now located at Greenwich Ohio, saying he expects to return to Hermiston this fall. He has 40 acres of land under the project.
