Jack pine cones from the fore, ts of northern Minne sota, are to be shipped to European countries, taking up the work of re forestation and a campaign for their collection has been inaugurated in the vicinity of, Cass Lake, Bemldjl and other cities in AVadena county. Fifty cents a bushel is offered for the cones. A Connecticut concern has a con tract to ship large consignments of the cones to Switzerland. France, Eng land, Germany, Japan and other coun trie and has appealed to the Minne sota forestry board to assist in the work of collection In Connecticut the seeds will be extracted by a spe cial scientific process before being shipped abroad.
