Extra fine program for Wednesday

"The Realization." Rex. This Is
a delightful story. The baby is the
ace of .rumps and is easily the star
attraction of the week. The rich
man and his wife were drifting apart
and were childless. The child of the
wife's dressmaker is left by Its rnoth-
er in one of the rooms of the house.
That baby touches the hearts of both
man and wife and puts new love into
each. It puts a warm glow in your!
hearts and leaves a feeling of happr-'
ness and delight. Beautifully colored
and tinted.
"His Wife." Nestor. This has the
qualities generally found in Nestor
films, freshness of theme and a hu
man story. A mischlefmaker gets
soundly trouncsd for his efforts v
cause trouble, and the friendship of
two men is not broken. Tlte story is
refreshing. Married people are not
all Jealous; there is friendship that
can endure, even when a man mar
ries the girl another once wanted.
Here are really human men and wo
men. The photography is fine and
the acting is good.

Special corcspondor."e from Kent,
in the Tacoma Ledger, reveals a de
plorable condition In the matter of
street pavements In the first .men
tioned city.
Duly a few months ago, by order
of the city council of Kent, a num
ber of blocks of concrete pavement
were laid. The snow and Ice and
traffic of a single winter have caused
them to (depreciate. Today they are
In a very "unsatisfactory condition.
The citizens of Kent are searching
about for some relief through the
adoption of a more enduring charac
ter of street pavement.
The extract referred to above from
the Tacoma Ledger Is as follows:
"Tlie members of the Kent city
council were in this city during the
past week looking over the bitullthic
street paving laid hero during the
past year. Tliey were entnusiastle
over the condition of the paved streets
of Puyallup, and invited Superin
tendent S. K. Fitzhugh of the 'warren
Construction company, to bid on cov
ering the cement paving now In use
In their city with the bithulithic as
used here. They say that 'the cement
paving is unsatisfactory."

1. The Heart of an Indian Maid.
American Pathe. Here Is told the
story of a trapped adopted into an
Indian tribe by tho ceremony of the
Intermingling of blood, and is given
the chief's daughter, Winohah, for a
wife. Later he .escapes and goes back
to his own wife and child. The cere
mony of adoption is accurately repro
duced and gives an interesting
glimpse of Indian customs.
2. Captain Nell. Edison. This
story tells in an interesting way how
a salvation army lassie saves a way
ward young man, marries him, and
eventually makes a man of him. The
story has much heart interest and is
told In a convincing way.
3. When A Man's Married. Vita
graph. A bright comedy of bright
bits nnd brilliant hits. It is based
upon the experience of a married
nan who by mistage exchanges cam
eras with a reporter friend. The mar
ried man is played by James Morri-1
son, his wifo by JIatle Nelson, and
the reporter by Edward Phillips.
4. Jealousy Polled. Pathe. Wal
dron, who is a cashier in a bank, gets
a noto from an old friend asking him
as a great favor to take $2000 out of
the safe to loan to him until tho next
morning. This Waldron does, and
Carleton, who Is bookkeeper and has
a grudge against Waldron, sees the
act. loiter ho steals the letter and
accuses Waldron of being a thief.
Things look bad for Waldron and the
president of tho ban, has lilm nr-

What the Golden Rule Store
Would Like to Know.
What's Become of the So -Called
Gordon Co. ?
Pendleton people were lead to believe that this company
has secured the Wonder Store stock at 58c on the dollar.
Have the people of the city been subjected to a big fake?
Why Did They Leave Pendleton?
Did Gordon & Co. find the Golden Rule Store's legitimate
business methods and REGULAR low prices, a stone
wall against which their hot air sale methods made no
impression? Did they leave town because they could not
fool the people? They have left ! Why?
Is Their Great (?) Sale Fizzling ?
Our sales are increasing daily, our business growing
steadily. Each day brings additional bargain hunters who
PURCHASE HERE, claiming our prices the lowest to
be found in Umatilla County. Why the Golden Rule's
stores great increase ?
Is it Because oi the Lower Prices the
Year 'Round and the Legitimate Business
Methods oi the
