Even when rat ten sold In the aggregate of '1,000,000 bushels of July wheat today it failed to cause more than temporary weak ness In options, ami. after opening severely lower, the wheat market closed 1-Se to l-4e a bushel above yesterday. ' There was alarm among the trade today when It became known posi tively that the former big bull leader of the wheat pit was an enormous seller of tlie July options To some this gave the Impression that tlie market was in very poor shape, and opening values were therefore bump ed to tlie extent of 7-Sc to 1 2-Sc a bushel, with the heaviest loss in the Mav and the smallest In July. Only a market that was extremely oversold could have acted so bullish after such a severe spell of weakness as today, and when the trade began to take this view of tlie situation there was Instant response by prices. Liverpool was very weak all day to day, and this gave the trade at homo some of its early scare.
