In both instances the wheat tested from 69 to 61 per bushel and in both instances the yield Is average as far as threshing has been done. Surprise party to Gibsons. Record So small was the rainfall In July, comprising but .05 of an Inch for the 31 days, that It came within a mite of being a record breaker during the 37 years the weather station at Portland has been In existence, says the Tele' gram. In July, 1883, there was no precipitation, and during the same month In 188 and 1896 only traces were recorded. Usually there Is a fair rainfall in July. In 1902 It amounted to 1.7 Inches during the month. The last shower to occur In July of this year was on J.he 13th of the month, when the precipitation meas ured .01 of an Inch.
