In addition to the Knights of Pyth ias gTand lodge which will convene In this city next June, the grand temple, Pythian Sisters, will also meet here at that time and the throng that will be here for the K. of P. meeting will be Increased by 100 or more ladles who will be attending the grand ses sion of the auxiliary order. Aside from those attending the grand lodge sessions several of the subordinate lodges of the state will have teams here for third rank com petitive work similar to that in which Pendleton Knights have successfully competed In the past. A J 100 trophy Is offered by the grand lodge to the winning team. The selection of Pendleton as the mf-etlng place for next year was a sig nal honor for this city for it has been the custom to meet in Portland for several yeai past and no other town outside of the metropolis could have secured the session for next year. Portland members themselves aided tii Pendleton delegation in getting 'Atf TTif-V.nz for next year and their unselfishness was highly appreciated. Outside members of the order aiso strongly praise the manner in which the grand Iodge people were enter Uind In Portland this year. The principal social feature was an ela. borate banquet given Wednesday nii;ht in the splendid new ffuarters of th- Portland commercial club. The affair was under the auspices of the Knights of Khorassan, the fun-making auxiliary, and Judge Bradshaw t The Dalles, was toastmaster. Ous Moser, the well known Port land attorney, was elected as grand chancellor of the order for the com ing year and he presided during the rpcent -sion. Frank Menefee of The Dalles was chosen grand vice chancellor and J. W. Maloney, cashier of the Savings bank, was reelected a grand master of exchequer. Present plans are to make the come Ing year the most active In the history of Oregon Pythianism and Grand Chancellor Moser is Intending to visit every portion of the state during his term. A monster mid-winter district convention is planned to be held In P'-rdieton during the year and It will be for all the lodges of eastern Ore gon and eastern Washington. E. B. Aldrich was damel as district deputy grand chancellor for Umatilla coun ty for the coming year. arraignment which has been set for Monday morning next at 10 o'clock, says the Oregon Daily Journal. Colonel Raley did not care to dis cuss the Indictment which has been returned against him by the federal grand Jury or to make any statement of his side of the case at this time. "I have not seen a copy of the In dictment and do not know except from newspaper accounts what the charges are," said Colonel Raley this morning. "I do not care to make any statement at this time, therefore, and will not until I have had time to familiarize myself with the facts. When I have done so, however, I will be glad to give my side of the contro versy." Colonel Raley will remain In Port land until the middle of next week, and will be present In the federal court on Monday next when all those Indicted for connection with the Uma till cases will be present and ready for arraignment Churches Christian Science.
