AuIoh and Trout.
Since automobilltis has become an
epldemlo here several parties have
sought the shades along Eight Mile
and other streams they could reach
more quickly by auto on Sundays,
where they enjoy fishing and an out-of-door
luncheon. Last Sunday Vic
Marden and a party of friends, with
Mr. and Mrs. M. Z. Donnell and fam
ily, went out to Eight Mile, where
they passed a delightful day. Several
went to Upper Five Mile and to other
streams fishing. Charles Frledly
caught CO, It Is said. In Mill creek;
another caught 40 In Chemowlth.
While on the subject of fish It may
bo stated here that It has been notic
ed by old fishermen that trout in
great numbers have been coming up
the Columbia and entering the small
streams. Never before In years have
there' been so many trout, caught
around The Dalles and this Is In the
main, attributed to the Influx of this
fish from down river streams.

Mr. D. B. Coctuma,
Manager Columbia Land Co.,
Pendleton, Oregon,
Dear Sir:
. As some of my friends know, I owned a half section of land at
Echo which. I bought over 29 years ago, and sold it about two years
ago for a ridiculous sum. I did not realize at the time the great fu
ture that all these lands at Echo and Hermlston had. I am satisfied
now from the great progress that has been made In that section that
within three years the lands will be worth from $300 to $1000 an
acre. There Is no doubt In my mind that big profits will be real
ized. Tonrs very truly,
s ,v. ' R- ALEXANDER.
Mr. Alexander has shown his faith in the project by
purchasing a tract which will be put in fruit.
Prices are low NOW aud terms easy.
