He recently gave that Institution $00,000 for a new build ing which will be started In a short time. FORESTERS APPOINTED. Forest Service In Oregon Increased by Six Men, Washington, April 20. The forest service has Just announced the fol lowing appointments on Oregon na tional forests: F. B. Herrlngton and R. W. Sweet land have been made assistant forest rangers on the northern division of the Cascade national forest; W. E. Graham, George R. Ledford, E. C. Owens and Marion Burllngame, have been made forest guards on the same forest. Joseph K. Carper hns been ap pointed a forest guard on the Imnaha national forest, in the northeastern part of the state. He will be assigned to the work of hunting predatory an imals on the tracts where the forest service Is conducting a series of In vestigations for the Improvement of the forage crop of the range. Arsene Beaudln of Adams, Mass., who Is to make an attempt to' break the record walk of Edward Payson Weston from Portland, Me., to Chl rogo, will start from the Portland city hall Tuesday on his long contest, says a Portland, Me., Item. Beaudln Is a Canadian. He weighs but 115 pounds and Is five feet two Inches tall. He Is a vegetarian and has never used tobacco or liquor. Dime Pleases. The Dime drew the usual Sunday crowd yesterday for the change of moving pictures, among the new at tractions being the play, "Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde" shown In a very real istic way In three acts. The illustrat ed song was new and attractive, and the entire program was one of the best yet shown here. There will be another change tomorrow. Pastime lYogrnm.
