"To Whom It May Concern: Of late there has been a good deal of discus sion in regard to advertised medicines, their value and power to cure. "I want to say to the people of Pen dleton that I believe the most valua ble cod liver oil preparation, the best bcdy-hulldor. health .restorer and strength-creator known to medicine today la Vlnol. "Whllo Vlnol does not contain the system-clogging oil of old-fashioned cod liver oil and emulsions, it actually does contain all the curative medicin al principles of the cod's liver In a highly concentrated form, with tonic Iron added, and it Is delicious to take. "I advise Vlnol In my practice, and find It has no equal for healing coughs, colds, bronchial troubles and sore lungs. "I have used Vlnol In mnny cnseB of Indigestion, mnl-asslmliatlon, and for patients who were anaemic and run down, with splendid results. I have also found Vlnol to be a boon to the aged. "I believe Vlnol to bo well worthy of any honest physician's endorse ment." We sell Vlnol to the people of Pen dleton on an offer to refund money if It falls to benefit. The Pendleton Drug company. Note. While we are sole agents for Vlnol In Pendleton, it is now for sale at the lending drug store In nearly every town and city In the country Look for the Vlnol agency In your town. Grant Northern Seeks to Abolish the Cascade Tunnel Nuisance. A task more stupendous than the building of the Panama canal Is the way James J. Hill sizes up the remedy of the transportation problem now confronting the country. To meet the situation the Great Northern Is prepared to spend enor mous amounts of money. Every fac tor contributing to congestion or de lay has been carefully weighed and plans made to Improve the service. As an Instance, Mr. Hill, discussing the eastbonnd lumber traffic from the coast with the Mississippi Valley Lumberman, cites the Cascade tunnel. through which all such shipments must pass. There Is a difference of 265 feet m grade between the two ends of the bore, which is 13,000 feet long, and there have been long de Inys and losses of life through the ac cumulation of smoke and gases from locomotives. Mr. Hill announces that the long talked of plan to operate the tunnel with electric power Is already close to realization, the road now having In the course of construction two large electric locomotives to pull trains through the mountain. This will permit one train to follow another closely, something which was never possible with coal burners. $100 Reward, $100.
