CATARRH A UNIVERSAL BLOOD DISEASE TRAVEL IS HEAVY high-class music fit for kings and no blemei, should not permit this one opportunity to slip by. The prices are reasonable, being cheaper than charged either In Spokane or Portland. Catarrh is usually worse In Winter, because of the cold, damp and suddenly changing climate. Colds are contracted, and neglected and as the secretions from the different inflamed membranes are absorbed into the blood the unpleasant symptoms of the disease commence. The nostrils are stopped up and a constant dropping of mucous back into the throat keeps op a continual hawV'ng and spitting. The patient has dull headaches, ringing noises in the ears, and often slight fever and a depressed, half-sick feeling accompanies the disease. The blood becomes so fully charged with catarrhal matter that stomach troubles are brought on, the kidneys and bladder are affected, and if the blood is not purified of the poison the lungs become diseased because of the constant passage of impure blood through them. Catarrh cannot be cured with washes, sprays, inhalations and such treatment ; these cannot reach the poison-laden blood where the real cause is located, and can only give temporary relief and comfort. A disease which affects the entire blood supply as does Catarrh, must be treated with a blood purifier. S. S. S. is the best remedy for Catarrh, which has crown to be a universal disease. Iteoesto PURELY VEGETABLE the bottom of the trouble, rids the blood of the catarrhal matter, reinvigorates the cir culation, and cures this disgusting disease permanently. When S, S. 8. has purified the blood even- part of the system receives a supply of fresh, healthy blood ; then the inflamed membranes heal and every symptom of Catarrh passes away. Wnte for our book containing information about Catarrh, and ask for anv medical advice vou desire. No charge is made for either. THE SWIFT SPidFIC CO., ATLANTA, CA. . NORTHWEST NEWS. The latest developments of the problem of securing adequate supply of water for Walla Walla and proper- y storing It. are outlined as follows bv the Statesman: J. O. Thomas, whose offer to sell the city sip acres of land for a reser voir site for $19,000. was accepted by the council at its last meeting, sub mitted another proposition this morn ing in which he offers to sell the city 20 acres of land and deed a right or way for an overflow pipe to Mill creek for $5000. The offer was practically accepted at a meeting of the council as a com mittee of the whole, held In the city clerk's office this morning. One con dition of the sole Is, that the city will relinquish all rights to the subter ranean water on the Thomas ranch which was acquired by the city some years ago at a cost of $10,000. Members of the council denied inai the storm of protest which went up from certain quarters, when It became public that the council had decided to buy the 80 acres, had anything to do with Mr. Thomas submitting a new proposition, or with the council de ciding to buy a less number of acres for the site. The subterranean rights claimed have been a cloud on the Thomas rjnch for many years. Inasmuch as the city had the right to prospect and die for water on any part of tne rancn, which has had a tendency to keep the innd off the market. "I felt that 15 acres would be am nle for the city's needs, but Engineer Thomson, who Is In the city today, con tends that 20 acres Is not too mucn and Mr. Thomas' offer to sell 20 acres for is 000 will probably be accepiea In addition to the 20 acres the city gets a 16-foot right of way for the overflow pipes to Mill creek, Councilman Bridges. x. ilm New Gravity System Unless the most rigid economy Is practiced In the expenditure of funds remaining In the water supply fund, the $250,000 voted to construct Walla Walla's new gravity water sstem win not be sufficient to complete the work. Inquiry at the city treasurers of fice reveals the fact that out of the $250,000 bond Issue, $179,510 has al ready been expended.
