Evidence of Foul Crime Found Near Wallula. The remains of what Is apparently a human skeleton were found yester day morning In the sage brush sur rounding the old plow factory at Wal lula, and an Investigation which was made reveals the fact that foul play was the cause of the death, says a tel efone message from Wallula. From all appearances the body had been subjected to several fires in an at tfmpt to obliterate all signs of the murder, which had been committed. In placing the bones of the skull to gether the mark where a bullet had entered the skull was plainly visible, and that a man has- been murdered, almost within the city of Wallula, cannot be doubted. The plow factory, strictly speaking, Is within the city limits of Wallula, but stands In an Isolated spot, sur rounded by sagebrush, with no resi dences within the immediate vicinity. The supposition is that one of the many harvesters, who have been fre quent visitors In Wallula. was inveigl ed to the factory by persons on rob bery bent, and In the scuffle which followed, was shot. This thsory Is strengthened by the fact that' an attempt was made to cover all signs of the crime by de stroying the remains of the dead man in burning them. In this the conspir ators failed, for the skull Is in a good state of preservation and the place where the bullet entered tells how the deed was done. ea oau 71 JAIii!eBr&l& CEYLON V siraction SEVEN FLAVORS Golden Gate Japan Golden Gate English Breakfast Golden Gate Ceylon nj Golden Gate Oolong ft Golden Gate Fancy Blend Golden Gate Gunpowder Golden Gate Black and Green 'Pacitd -frt Flavor-Tight Cartons J.
