PLEADED GUILTY TO FORGERY.
The Hulncys Pleaded Not Guilty and
Will Stand Trial.
In the circuit court this morning
otto Hocklnsmlth and Thomas Mosb
pleaded guilty to the charge of forg
ery. Sentence was not passed on
them at the time, but will probably
be given- Moss within a day, or two.
It is probable that Hocklnsmith's
sentence will be suspended until June
so as to have him here at that time
to testify In the case against the two
Halneys. Itoth of. the latter have en
tered pleas of not guilty to the
charges against them, and will be
tried at the June term of court.

SUSPECT TAKEN IV BAKER CITY.

yesterday in Maker City charged with
robbing the N'olf stationery store,
and also with taking an overcoat
from George Froome. This afternoon
District Attorney Phelps filed Inform
ation against him In the justice court

ROY ACCUSED OF ROBBERY.

Albeit Murray was brought to the
county Jail last night by Marshal
Garrett, of Adams. The boy, who is
14 years of age, is said to have been
caught robbing stores, a barber shop
and other places at Adams. In view
of his youthfulness Mr. Phelps states
that he will probably be remanded
to the reform school If found guilty.
Episcopal Services nt Weston,
llev. Henry Dixon Jones, rector of
the Church of the Redeemer, return
ed today at noon from Weston, where
he held services for the Episcopalians
of Weston last night. During Lent
Dr. Jones will hold weekly services
at Weston. While In. Weston Dr.
Junes visited the normal school and Is
delighted with the little city and Its
surroundings.

Ah Lee, the Chinaman who was
arrested last night by Officer Coff
man for smoking opium, was this
afternoon sentenced to serve 10 days
In Jail by Recorder Fltz Gerald. Lee
had Just been released from a 20
days term for the same offence when
he was arrested this time.
BI LLET HOLES IN SKULL.
Murder of Wife by Husband Is Sus
pected. Marysvllle, Cal., March 14. What
Is believed to be bullet holes, were
discovered in the remnants of the
skull of Mrs. Joseph Nance, whose
charred body was found In the ashes
of her home Monday. Her husband
Is still detained, but no formal charge
against him as yet has been brought.

Judge Hebbard, In the latter's court
room after Hubbard had concluded

his home after a business trip to the
city. His son Robert, who has been
suffering with an ailment of the leg,
Is rapidly Improving.
G. W. and Joseph Milsap will move
their families to their farm on' Mc
Kay creek, 12 miles southeast of
town tomorrow to remain for the
summer. They will summer fallow
the wheat land this season.
C. H. Reynolds and wife are here
today from Freewater. Mr. Reynolds

Mrs. F. J. Donaldson, wife of the

ing to Milton, where Rev. Compton
will attend a meeting of the board of

northwest of Pendleton, Is in the city
today and says hfe will reseed half a
section of wheat land which was
fiozen out. Others are reseeding in
that section and a few will risk their
crops although many of them are
spotted In the light land.
