Decem ber 19, for the purpose of discussing the question of sending a delegate from Oregon to the Forest Congress, which meets In Washington, D. C, on January 2, for the purpose of discuss ing the disposal of the forest reserve ranges of the West. The method of leasing the reserve lands will be decided by this forestry congress, and it la imperative that every sectton of the Vnited States having livestock Interests, to be In attendant and assist In arranging the details of the leases and leasing system to be adopted there. The government officials will be on hand eo listen to the advice and sug gestions of the practical stockmen, and the form of leases and regula tions governing the reserves will largely depend on the strength of the stockmen's representation at the con gress. If the stockmen do not take enough Interest to attend the meeting and assist In formulating some practical method of disposing of the leasing question, then the forest theorists In the government departments will de cide upon the policy to be adopted.
