A remnrkable flight was that ot a young carrier pigeon belonging to Sam Wilkinson, which has made a record for Itself not exceeded by any yet known to Dalles fanciers. Three weeks ngo Mr. Wilkinson sent five pigeons to Umatilla, among which was one from 12 to 16 weeks old. The latter was the one he least ex pected to see return: but so far has been the only one to make Its appear ance. This was the little fellow's first trip away from home, and yet he found lils way back over the 100 miles alone, a - feat Mr. Wilkinson says, remarkable In so young a bird. The Dalle Chronicle. Klne Stock for Idaho Varin. Prof. II. T. French, director ot the Idaho experiment station, was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Wil son, a day or two last week, while on a business trip to Corvallls. Pro fessor French was for several years head of the agricultural department at Oregon college. At the last meet ing ot the Idaho board of regents he was given an advance In salary, and the sum ot $5000 to be expended In the purchase of fancy livestock for the college farm. Corvallls Times. "Stuffed" the Primaries. It is understood that complaints have been laid before Prosecuting Attorney Johnson charging that Ille gal voting was done in the, primaries especially at the West Lewlston pre cinct, and when Mr. Johnson was seen by a Tribune reporter he stated that such was the case, and com plaints were made that democrats had voted, and that men who had not been In the state, county and pre cinct the length of time required hnd voted and that the law had been re peatedly violated.
