Under the reorganization of the old Virtue mine, one of Oregon's biggest gold producers for the past quarter of a century, plans will be carried out that equip the property for .ex tensive workings on a scale the equal of any other mine In Oregon. Tho plnclng in position of an engine with a pumping capacity of 2500 gal lons per minute and a hoist for sink ing 2000 feet, nre now under way and when tho mine resumes operations In a few weeks there will bo nothing to retard continuous work. From all accounts tho mine when operations get fairly under wny will eclipse all former records In the amount of Its gold production. Tho importance of this mine to tho prosperity of Halter City Is a factor beyond estimate and the people of linker City have cause to bo pleased that a resumption of operations Is to occur B0611. linker City Democrat. 1 Idaho Crops Good. The reports from the harvest fields continue to' bo most encouraging. The threshing 'has not generally com menced and few reports on yields have been made, but header men state that the crop Is the heaviest ever hurvested In the country and the yield will bo n material Increase over for mer years. The hay harvest Is well advance In all sections, and balers have been In operation for the past two weeks. Tho hay crop is report ed to be very heavy and of an excel lent quality. Lewlston Tribune.
