"Yes," said Mr. Cohen, of the Peo ples Warehouse, to an East Oregon Ian man, "the fire sale is moving along nicely and the demand for goods continues to be good. The sale has gone far beyond our expec tations and the crowds that continu ally visit our storo gives prospects of continuation of the largo busi ness. "Of course," continued Mr. Cohen, "the jam Is over and people are tak ing more time In making purchases, but the opportunity to save money cannot be resisted for If I do say It myself, there was never offered such splendid bargains ns are offered at this sale. "There Is a reason why this flro sale was so great aud why It con tinues to draw the people, and that Is the fact that every price within the four walls of our store was cut and reduced to such an extent as to make It an object to buy. "We not only sold damag6d goods at the cut price, but articles that were not Injured In the least go In at the sale. Wo wore made an al lowance by the Insurance compa nies for the damage done to our stock which gave us a liberal margin to work on and wo spread the allow ance to all parts of the store and reduced everything. "I want you to take a walk through the various departments of the store and see for yourself how the prices have been slashed. See ing Is believing, so Judgo for your self and you will agree that the enormous sale we are enjoying is coming to us because we have made It a big object to the people to buy." As the East Oregonlan man ac companied by Mr. Cohen, strolled through the store, stops were made at some of the departments and the prices and goods examined, and cer tainly economical buyers found much to please. AMOUNT IN SIGHT FOR THE WADE CREDITORS. Personal Property Yielded $19,113.18 Net Not All the Claims Have Yet Been Allowed First Dividend Will Be of Six Per Cent W. T. Rlgby Has a Claim for $1,500 Which He Holds Should Be Preferred and Paid In Full. T. C. Taylor, trustees of tho Wade estate, has filed his report of the In come from tho personal property, and part of tho expenses. There was $531 In cash on hand when the first sale was made, which had been secured from tho salo of one or two small Items. Tho porsonnl property sold amount ed to $14,C08.75, and the cattle yield ed $3,912.r.3 after the expenses of dipping and feeding had been de ducted. This made a total Income from the personal property of $19, 113.18. Tho expenses of the trustee so far reported have amounted to $730. 08, leaving $18,37C.r.O to bo turned over to tho referee. Out of this sum there Is still to be taken several Items of expense, nmong them being the claims of the appraisers (which have not yet been filed,) the petitioners claim for at torney's fees, filing expenses, and In-, cldental expenses which will amount to about $125, tho fee of the trustee's attorney (which has not been filed,) and tho trustee's commission (which will be between $190 and $330.) and the referee's commission of 1 per cent on tho amount disbursed to the creditors. Referee Fltz Gerald announces that he will In a short time award a div idend of 0 per cent on the personal property. This Is based on tho esti mate of $260,000 for the entire claims put In and allowed. From the present outlook and es timating the real property at $20,000, It Is probable that the total dividend will perhaps amount to between 12 and 15 per cent. W. T. Rlgby holds a preferred claim of $1,500 against the personal property, which he claims should be paid In full; but his contention Is disputed by many of tho creditors, and by the trustee, and the case will be given a hearing by the referee before he awards the dividend, J.
