Mountain Roads Impassable. Charles Vlnecore, of Kamela, who was in tho city today, says the mountain roads are now Impassable on neemmt of the breaking up of tlie deep snow. All hauling Is suspend ed until tlio snow goes, Mr. Vine- core operates a sawmill at Spring Spur, two miles east of Kamela, and lias sold nine cars of lumber in this city and vicinity during the past winter. Ho has logs to last him for three years run there. To Democratic Voters. It. & N., lias returned to Pendleton, after an absence of sev eral months in Utali and Colorado. Zoeth Houser, of Echo, Is in the city today. He has spent the win ter In the mining district of the Greenhorns and will return to his property there soon. WILL BUILD A SECOND SJORY. Extensive Improvements to Bulldlnfl- Occupied by Peoples Warehouse. J. R. Dickson, the owner of me building in which the Peoples Ware house Is located, will in all proba bility put a second story to the building, while the roof Is part off, as it Is at present. ' The store has been badly In need of room for some time, and Mr. Dickson has been contemplating making an addition. Now that the fire hns made it necessary to prac tically put a new roof on the place, it is thought to be a good time to mni-o tho imiirnvfimwiit. The second story will be used by Mr. Cohon for storing his surplus stock, ana 11 is probable that the entire Interior of the lower rooms may be remodeled, INSANITY SUSPECTED. Union, Baker and Wallowa counties have elected solid Moody delegations to the coun ty conventions. Grant will be divid ed and Harney, It .Is now thought, will be for Moody. The primaries were very quiet, al though the Interest wa3 the most :uonounced in several years. The church and Scrlber factions have been very active In. Union and Wal lowa counties, and the nomination of a Moody ticket throughout Is now conceded In these counties. EASTER TEA.. In Honor of Rev. Potwlne, at Home of Mrs. Marshall.
