Although Wheat Is Lower, the Millers Continue to Force Up the Price of Flour. There is little change In the mar kets other than the price of flour and unmif Tio Tilfrh fltnirA -which wheat has been quoted at has forced mill stuffs to go to the highest figure it has reached for several years and as a consequence those having to buy flour are the ones to pay the enor mous price. One week ago the oest granu lated sugar was quoted at $5.35 a sack and today It Is quoted at $5.50, or a raise of 15 cents a sack. Meats, vegetables. nd other mar ketable stuff remain as quoted last week. Eggs can not be bought but the price has not gone above 35 cents. Thanksgiving has not yet forced up the price of fowls, but It Is expected that turkeys and chickenB will be at a premium before the last of the month. The supply 1b quoted plenti ful but the outside demand Is good. Several different kinds or vegeta bles and fruits are off the market now. Portland, Nov. 13. The local wheat ...ai-kor ot nrefnt is dull and very lit tle doing. Exporters appear to have a surfeit of wheat on hand and are not very anxious buyers at present prices. They seem to nave an ui wheat required for chartered tonnage on hand and to arrive, mo wueai mainlng unsold in the country win I, n A 1 te nvinon RflOOOOO bushels, that is what growers have to sell, and this Is what growere iutw uj , s in very strong hands, and higher prices will have to he iiam to the samo. Selling all season so lar has been quite free ana at no huj when a grower had wheat to sell at a fair price was his offer refused. Late reports from Australia and South Africa indicate that these countries have all the grain purchased they were in need of. From the United Kingdom there Is very little call, and freights will have to come dowu ma- tnrin.Hr to do nnv more new busi ness as prices asked are entirely too high considering tne price mat snip- nore iyjiIi! for whoaL It is doubtful whether 20 shillings for a vessel to the united Kingdom could be oDtam- ed.
