Thomas McCarthw was found comb ing out of a room In the Argo block with a woman's astrakhan cloak In his possession about 4 o'clock in the afternoon. The landlord stopped hirri and telephoned the police, who took the offender into custody. The coat is alleged to be the property of Mrs. Dickinson, who resides in the build ing. Didn't Steal, Only Took It. Frank Cole and Frank Borgess ad mitted taking a coat from the Cineo- graph theater Saturday night, rney were brought before Judge Kennan yesterday afternoon and said they would plead "guilty of having the coat, but not guilty of stealing It." When questioned, they say that they saw the coat lying there with no ap parent owner, and needing a coat. took it along with no thought of wrongdoing. William McKnight, who owned the coat, told of leaving it on a seat while watching the show. At the conclusion of the performance he returned and found it gone. The two young men were given a fine of $50 each. C. H. Holstrom did not deny that he took a coat belonging to R. M. Hadwin from the hall of the Pedlcord hotel, but claimed he did-so by mis take.
