Tho American Congress of Tuber culosis, which has boon In session In New York, adopted a resolution de claring tuberculosis "an acuto infec tious disease, also the following res-clatlons: "Whereas, Tuberculosis Is an infec tions dlseaso ordinarily communicated from person to person by moans of the dried sputum of a consumptive patient; and, "whereas, Tho spread of tubercu losis could bo largely controlled by proper care of such sputum and the enforcement of comparatively easyi methods; therefore, be it "Resolved, by tho American Con gress of Tuberculosis, That the health authorities be urged to dis seminate to tho widest extent possl- bo through tho press and otherwise) correct Information as to tho manner in which this disease is produced and tho means to bo employed for its prevention. "Resolved; That wo bollevo It to be the duty of tho national, .state and municipal governments to enact ra tional methods for the prevention of tuberculosis, and wo recommend tho establishment of Institutions for tho care of Indigent consumptives.
