The fall term ol Whitman college ill commence on September 12, with three new i estroetors, and a probable attendance of 400, aaya the Walla Walla Union. Of the new inatrnctors, Prof. ( harles W. Allen is the most important. Mr Allen is a graduate of the 1 niversity of Chicago, and holds a fine record in the athletic department of that insti tution. He has had three years' ex perience as professor and coach, two at 'Shattnrk school, Minnesota; and one at Alma, Mich. During the com ing year he will coach all the Whit man teams, and do some work In Fug Hob. Owing to the increased demand, the conservatory has undergone a complete change, making room for several extra pianos.
