Wool buyer generally agree that the present status of tin- market in the east is scarcely one of promise of better prices for the clips of the country now tor sale. Although the season started with excellent prices quoted, and al though many sheepmen sold at those beginning ((notation, the market latterly has suffered a slump. For manv days past the buyers have been reticent, and, when expressing them selves, have said that they were not in the market for wools just now, and would await developments at their baadqoartata. The market advices received here, und which are determining the present value of wool are that the big mills of the Atlantic coast are buying under a "hand to imiuth" policy. None of the big mills are tuking any considerable quantities of wool, and only a few of the smaller mills have done any ex tensive buying.
