Van Dyke, executive sec reta ry o f the Cantonment C oordin ating board, at a luncheon held Wednesday noon o f this week at Coy’s Cafe. A very instructive dis cussion was S<d by M r. Van Dyke w ith the local representatives ask ing many o f the questions it is fe lt Gold H ill w ill have to face when the cantonment comes. Mr. Van Dyke pointed out that the main problems to be faced by this com m unity w ill be health and sanitary conditions, housing fa c ili ties and school fa cilitie s adequate to handle an increase in the school enrollm ent. In an in itia l step to take care of the housing problem all residents o f Gold H ill who have houses, liv ing apartments and rooms fo r rent are asked to lis t them w ith John Chisholm at an early date. There ts no charge to lis t this available space and forms w ill be furnished at Mr. Chisholm ’s office. Mr. Van Dyke also pointed out that the coordinating board is very anxious to cooperate w ith the local committees in any problems that may arise and stated that any in form ation that they receive on the cantonment is im m ediately a vail able to residents here. It is believed the c ity council w ill take up many o f the canton- meqt problems at tj>eir regular meeting in the c ity hall next Mon day evening, July 7. Girl Scout* To Camp At McKee Bridge At the meeting of the G irl Scouts Tuesday afternoon plans were made fo r the camping tr ip to Mc Kee Bridge. The g irls w ill leave the c ity hall about 3 p.m. Sunday a fte r noon, July 13, and retu rn Wednes day afternoon about 5 pan. First Aid Class To Meet Again Monday The F irs t Aid class w hich meets tw ice each week in Gold H ill w ill not meet again u n til Monday eve ning, July 7. The meeting fo r this Thursday evening has been post poned due to the 4th of July. The F irs t Aid course w hich is sponsored by the union of the Pac ific Portland Cement plant now has an enrollm ent o f 50' w ith an average attendance of 36 or 40. Last Monday night C. C.
