B ayer A spirin The bulletin recommends first of all that a base map be prepared on a scale of one inch or tw o inches to the mile. This should show town- ship and section lines, location of water bodies, transportation facil ities. power and communication lines, all occupied and unoccupied dwellings outside of towns, fac tories, operating mines, and topog raphy. Information for such a map can be obtained from the county engineer, slate highway department and other sources suggested. Other maps recommended are a soils map, land use map, mineral resources map, w ater resource; map, land ownership and tax de linquency map, tax road and schoo map and recreation map. In each case the bulletin describes how the map should be prepared and where information may be obtained. The cooperation of Jackson coun ty citizens and organizations is re quested in assembling data for the maps. Material gathered w ill also be assembled from the counties to be used as a basis for state projects, it is stated. j Grilled Cheese - Bacon Sandwiches Bread (sliced) Cheese (sliced 1-4 inch thick. Goldfish Overfed, Not Gassed Gold fish are not injured by chlor inated water common in most cit ies. but they are injured by over feeding, according Io investigations made by Dr. Nathan Fasten, head«of the zoology department at Oregon State college. Dr. Fasten has re cently published in the American Naturalist the results o f a test he made which showed that gold fish w ill live indefinitely in chlorinated city water, and that they w ill live from four to six months in many cases w ith no food whatever. A total of 293(1 men were being employed on federal relief projects in the southern Orgon district, 01 January 25. ami the number has not changed to any extent since, il was announced at WPA headquarters in Medford this week. The men are employed in numer ous government projects and de partments, most of them in WPA work in the forest service. There are 221S of them working on WPA projects alone. The counties included in this dis trict are Jackson, Josephine, Doug las, Coos, Curry, Klamath and Lake.
