NNPA 2014 ANNUAL CONVENTION It is with pride that we welcome the NNPA to the Pacific Northwest, and our city, Portland, Oregon. Most of you are probably here for the first time, and there are so many unique things to see and do in our beautiful region that you might have a hard time choosing. Remember: Until about 150 years ago, this was all forest. Look to the west and you will see Mt. Hood, Portland's own gem of the Cascade Mountain Range. At this time of the year it is graced by wildflowers, butterflies, and waterfalls. Look to the north and you’ll see Washington State’s majestic Mt. Saint Helens — which last erupted in 1984. From where you stand in our city limits, you’re just one hour away from year-round skiing, and, in the other direction, one hour away from the most beautiful beaches in the world. We hope that in your free time while you’re visiting, you’ll have the chance to tour the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge, where cherry season is in full swing. Take drives to Mt. Hood, and along the way stop and fill a basket with the sweetest fruit you’ve ever tasted. Our entire community is thrilled to be your host this weekend. We worked hard to make sure you’ll have the best convention ever. Thanks for choosing Portland and welcome to the Pacific Northwest.
