Following up on beloved, now-deceased musician Obo Addy’s unique
event, DiaTribe: From the Village to the Streets last year, organizer Alan
Wone is bringing the event back in a bigger venue – free of charge to the
public. DiaTribe: In the Park is designed to show the linkages between
African music traditions and African-American culture, with live music,
dance, spoken word, krumping and more. Here, from left Alex Addy,
Charles Armah, Mashud Neindow, Richmond, Eben, and Okuley Tetteh
rehearse for the show. The event is Monday, Aug. 5, from 6 -8 p.m. in
Washington Park. Tickets are free, and seating is first come, first served. For
more information go to www.oboaddylegacyproject.org, or on Facebook
search for Diatribe in the Park.
