Healthcare Events for
Immigrant Families,
Local Community
The African Partnership for Health
(APH) and OHSU’s Global Health Cen-
ter hosts four free health clinics at
Lutheran Community Services North-
west.
Faculty and student representatives
from the four OHSU schools and the
Casey Eye Institute will provide med-
ical, dental and vision screenings for
low-income, uninsured refugees, immi-
grants and community members. They
will check eyes and vision, teeth and
mouth, blood pressure, provide brown-
bag medicine checks and provide
referrals for free or low cost medical
follow up.
Participants should bring all of their
medications with them to the clinic. The
clinics will take place on four Saturdays
this spring. The clinics will run from
10am-2pm on April 14, April 28, May 5
and May 19, at Lutheran Community
Services, 605 SE Cesar E. Chavez Blvd.

cial Aid Office invite current and
prospective students and their families
to the computer lab in room AC2554
where they can get one-on-one help
with FAFSA.
To join a TGIF party, students should
bring their 2011 IRS tax returns, 2011
end-of-year pay stubs (if tax returns are
not yet completed), current value of
assets, social security number (and
those of their parents if student is a
dependent), driver’s license and alien
registration card (if applicable).
MHCC’s Gresham Campus is located
at 26000 SE Stark St. Parking permits
are required and may be purchased for
$3 at ticket kiosks located by the flag-
poles and gym.
Youth Job Fair at
Concordia University
Worksource Portland Central and over
25 organizations, schools and commu-
nity groups from North-Northeast
Portland invite you to join us at the
NOW Youth Job Fair, Thursday, April
12, from 10 am to 2 p.m. at the Concor-
dia University Hagen Campus Center,
2811 NE Holman St.
This event is targeted towards the
emerging young adult workforce ages
17-25 years. The skills and experience
represented at this hiring event will
range from entry level to skilled profes-
sionals.
The NOW Generation (North-North-
east Portland’s Outstanding Workforce)
will include job seekers looking for sea-
sonal jobs, internships and regular
full-time and part-time work opportuni-

On April 28, St. Mary’s Academy
will honor three accomplished
alumnae at the 10th Annual St.
Mary’s Academy Awards. This
year’s ceremony recognizes
Aneshka Dickson, class of 1995,
for Career Achievement. Dickson
is the vice president and chief
financial officer of Portland-
based Colas Construction Inc, a
family business. In September of
2010, she was the youngest
person ever appointed to the
prestigious Portland Development
Commission by the Portland City
Council. Under her leadership,
Colas Construction received the
Austin Family 2011 Excellence in
Family Business Award.

Luau Fundraiser for
Pacific University
Tickets for Pacific University’s 52nd
annual Lu’au, set for Saturday, April 14,
are still available.
Presented by Ná Haumána O Hawai`i,
the 2012 event is themed “E Ho’olaulea
Pu Kakou!” (Let’s Celebrate Together!)
and includes a Hawaiian meal prior to a
spectacular student-performed show
featuring traditional dances and more.

depending on seating and dinner choice.
Pacific students receive a significant
discount.
The meal will take place from 4:30 to
6 p.m. in the University Center (Wash-
burne Hall), and the show will follow at
6:30 p.m. in the Bill and Cathy Stoller
Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the
show.
Specialties will be flown in from the
islands including fresh pineapples,
cookies, chocolate-covered macadamia
nuts, leis, jellies and other treats, avail-
able Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.,
