Storyteller Len Cabral, the great grandson of a Cape verdean whaler, has been enchanting audiences since 1976 with his exhuberant retelling of African, Cape verdean and Caribbean folktales. On Friday, Nov. 18, he holds a special solo performance at the North Star Ballroom, 635 N. killingsworth Ct., for teens and adults. Tickets are $10 at the door. On Saturday, Nov. 19, he performs two free family matinees for ages 5 and up: 11 a.m. at North Portland Library, 512 N. killingsworth St., and 2 p.m. at Troutdale Library, 2451 S.W. Cherry Park Rd. Saturday, Cabral joins two other renowned storytellers in Tellabration, the free festival finale and worldwide storytelling celebration, 7 p.m. at the First Unitarian Church, 1011 S.W. 12th Ave., recommended for ages 10 and up.
