C arEErS E ditiOn 2011 george fox, Christian studies G eorge Fox University is Oregon’s nationally recognized Christian uni- versity, providing students with personal attention, global opportunities to learn and serve, and a supportive community that encourages academic rigor and spiritual growth. We offer bachelor’s degrees in more than 40 majors, adult degree pro- grams, five seminary degrees, and 12 master’s and doctoral degrees. George Fox is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, and in 2010-11 Forbes ranked George Fox among the top 150 colleges in America and among the nation’s top three Christian colleges. With a student population of 3,000, WSU Vancouver offers a small-college atmosphere with public university access. The beautiful 351-acre cam- pus is located just 10 miles north of Portland up I-5 or I-205. Education - WSU Vancouver deliv- ers personalized education that enhances the intellectual, creative and practical abilities of its students. The university currently offers 18 bachelor’s degrees, 10 master’s degrees and more than 37 fields of study. More than 130 doctoral teaching scholars work side-by-side with graduate and undergraduate students in computer, engineering, multimedia, nursing, psychology and science laboratories. Together they conduct research of regional, national and international impact—fuelling economic growth and development in our region. Campus and Student Life - The WSU Vancouver campus features a bookstore, cafeteria, student com- mons, student services center, study hall areas, art galleries, a sports court, fitness center and a system of biking and pedestrian trails. The library is stocked with more than 30,000 books, access to more than 100 data- bases, 9,000 full-text online journals, and extensive web connections that make it a personal gateway to world- wide research materials. Student life centers around a vari- ety of activities, including an active student government and nearly 50 registered student organizations that make it easy for students to connect with others who share their passion. Weekend snowboarding, skiing and rock climbing trips, and intramural sports offer balance to academic pur- suits. Scholarships – Roughly 75 percent of WSU Vancouver’s student popula- tion takes advantage of some form of scholarship or financial aid to help finance their education.
